SURPRISE!

Wednesday afternoon, July 3, I had a sneaking suspicion I should probably take a pregnancy test - considering my monthly "friend" was about 5-6 days later than she usually comes. Not wanting to get too excited, I busied myself around the house waiting for those three minutes to pass to see what my result would be. Lo and behold, it was positive! As excited as I was becoming, I had the need to run to the store and get two more tests. Since I was not having symptoms of any kind - I needed to know for SURE this was the real deal and not just a fluke. Sure enough...

Hooray! Now it was time to quickly think of a cute way to tell Hubby the news when he got home from work. It was 2 days before his 40th birthday, so I gave him a little hint there was an "early birthday gift" waiting at home for him. :) I wrapped up the pregnancy tests in light pink and blue tissue paper in a big 'ol box for him to open. When he got home and I could barely hold in my excitement and tears as he began opening the box, his reaction was unforgettable and the look on his face just said it all! (Side note: he did ask if we were having twins because I put TWO pregnancy tests in the box. Sorry honey, doesn't work like that ;) ) We were leaving for Port Aransas with his family the next day, but not before we were to have lunch with my family to celebrate my sister Ashley's engagement. It was TORTURE not to tell the families over the next few days, but I wanted to be 100% sure and get the blood test done at the doctor before we shared any news.

After blood tests confirmed our wonderful news, we could barely contain ourselves as we told each of the families. It will be the first grandchild for my parents, and Jason is the last one in his family to have kiddos...and it's been about 10 years since they've had a baby on his side so this should be such a fun time for both sides of the family. Babies are the best!

We are so excited to begin this new chapter in our lives. I've started this blog for family and friends to follow along in our journey and watch the progress little Baby Garrahan.
