How far along? 12Weeks
Total weight gain: About 3-4 lbs.
Best moment of the week: Announcing to all our friends that we're expecting! The response has been so supportive and loving. :)
Maternity clothes? Nope. Just sticking with blousey and loose!
Sleep: Sleep is so-so. I wake up a lot during the night and tend to lie awake.
Miss anything? Cold turkey sandwiches, and weirdly, hot dogs. It's not like I EVER ate them before being pregnant...but now that I can't eat them? Of course I want them!
Food cravings: Still just anything unhealthy. I try to choose not horrible "unhealthy" things...a bag of baked Doritos have been my favorite treat lately!
Anything making you queasy or sick? Still most healthy foods. If I get a whiff of grilled chicken or cooked vegetables...it's not pretty. And I still can't make a decision ever on what I want to eat...it takes a good 30 minutes to an hour to think of something each meal!
Symptoms: Tender boobs and light-headed. Oh - and the crazy emotional pregnant lady symptoms have definitely begun as well! Let's just say being humiliated after breaking a big glass vase in Home Goods (and in my defense, being glared at and chastised by the employee) led to major tears that just would not stop! If only I had a bump so they didn't think I was just a crazy lady crying... ;)
Belly button in or out? In
Movement: No
Happy or Moody most of the time? Happy! Besides my emotional outburst at Home Goods and mayyyybe one or two other emotional moments, I've been the happiest I've ever been!
Looking forward to: A long weekend! Labor Day is right around the corner..which means we are THAT much closer to the fall season! :)

11 Weeks
How far along? 11 Weeks
Total weight gain: About 1-2 lbs. (Will definitely be 2-3lbs after this birthday weekend!)
Best moment of the week: Announcing to my office that I'm pregnant! Was such a fun day and everyone could not be more excited for us.
Maternity clothes? Nope
Sleep: Sleep is still great. Definitely having much more vivid dreams and getting up at least twice to pee...but I'm just so thrilled I have not yet had any trouble sleeping.
Miss anything? Cold turkey sandwiches. I can't lie - I had one last week and I couldn't have been happier! Trying to only have one (mayyyyybe two!) a week.
Food cravings: Anything unhealthy. This weekend it was La Hacienda and a delicious meal at the JW Marriott followed by s'mores and cookie cake. Tonight I will get to indulge in my Dad's homemade spaghetti and turkey meatballs with chocolate sheet cake. Baby will be full and happy!
Anything making you queasy or sick? Still lots of food aversions. I can't make a decision on where to eat for any meal to save my life...because usually nothing ever sounds good until it's in front of me, and then I can say, "do I want to eat this or not?"!
Symptoms: Tender boobs and now I'm starting to get dizzy and light-headed at times.
Belly button in or out? In
Movement: No
Happy or Moody most of the time? Happy! I've had a great week/weekend celebrating different birthdays with co-workers, family and friends.
Looking forward to: Birthday dinner tonight with my wonderful family. Happy birthday to me!

10 Weeks
How far along? 10 Weeks
Total weight gain: About 1 lb.
Best moment of the week: Making my first official baby purchase at Baby Gap! One-sies are quite possibly the cutest things on the planet.
Maternity clothes? Not yet! Although I did go to Gap for tax-free weekend and had to stock up on some essential maternity leggings and shirts for the upcoming fall season. There's no bump yet but clothes are starting to fit a tad tighter!
Sleep: Had my first rough night of sleep this week. Lots of tossing and turning and sleeping on my stomach is beginning to get a little uncomfortable. I've been going to bed early - even for me - and that could possibly be the cause of me waking up continuously between 3-5am, but I'm trying to give my body as much sleep as possible!
Miss anything? I'm sure most people would assume I would say I miss deli turkey and booze...but honestly, with feeling as nauseous as I am, neither of those things would I even remotely want to willingly put in my body right now.
Food cravings: Anything bread or cheese. It's been the ONLY constants I can keep putting in my system. How healthy, huh?! ;) Anything healthy sounds horrible to me. Grilled chicken...vegetables...get them out of my sight.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Almost everything. If people look at me wrong I get a tummy ache. And if I like one food one day - I'm almost positive I won't like it the next. My taste buds are completely weirding me out!
Symptoms: Nausea like whoa. Thought I saw a glimmer of hope that it was subsiding very early in the week...but that's a no-go. It's definitely still here. :(
Belly button in or out? This is going to change?!?!? In...
Movement: No
Happy or Moody most of the time? Happy! Especially when I'm not feeling so bad.
Looking forward to: My birthday is in a few days and I'm looking forward to celebrating with family and getting my Dad's fabulous homemade spaghetti and turkey meatballs. YUMM-O!

1st Time to See Little Baby Garrahan!
We got to see our little peanut for the first time on August 5th - almost one month after finding out the good news! It was a day we had been anxiously awaiting...wondering if we were going to be able to hear the heartbeat of our little one.
My sweet mom and sister Ashley went with Hubby and I to the appointment and it truly was a magnificent moment when you get to see your baby for the first time. Not only did we get to hear the heart beat, but baby Garrahan also managed to do little kick (future Diamond Dancer?!) for us as well! So much love for this baby already.

SURPRISE!
Wednesday afternoon, July 3, I had a sneaking suspicion I should probably take a pregnancy test - considering my monthly "friend" was about 5-6 days later than she usually comes. Not wanting to get too excited, I busied myself around the house waiting for those three minutes to pass to see what my result would be. Lo and behold, it was positive! As excited as I was becoming, I had the need to run to the store and get two more tests. Since I was not having symptoms of any kind - I needed to know for SURE this was the real deal and not just a fluke. Sure enough...
Hooray! Now it was time to quickly think of a cute way to tell Hubby the news when he got home from work. It was 2 days before his 40th birthday, so I gave him a little hint there was an "early birthday gift" waiting at home for him. :) I wrapped up the pregnancy tests in light pink and blue tissue paper in a big 'ol box for him to open. When he got home and I could barely hold in my excitement and tears as he began opening the box, his reaction was unforgettable and the look on his face just said it all! (Side note: he did ask if we were having twins because I put TWO pregnancy tests in the box. Sorry honey, doesn't work like that ;) ) We were leaving for Port Aransas with his family the next day, but not before we were to have lunch with my family to celebrate my sister Ashley's engagement. It was TORTURE not to tell the families over the next few days, but I wanted to be 100% sure and get the blood test done at the doctor before we shared any news.
After blood tests confirmed our wonderful news, we could barely contain ourselves as we told each of the families. It will be the first grandchild for my parents, and Jason is the last one in his family to have kiddos...and it's been about 10 years since they've had a baby on his side so this should be such a fun time for both sides of the family. Babies are the best!
We are so excited to begin this new chapter in our lives. I've started this blog for family and friends to follow along in our journey and watch the progress little Baby Garrahan.
