39 Weeks

How far along? 39 Weeks! I absolutely cannot believe the time is almost here.
Total weight gain: 38-40lbs. Safe to say I have faithfully put on 1lb per week. Was honestly surprised this number got so high...but I feel great and hit the gym 6 times a week and never went crazy with food! I am so fortunate to be able to say I had an extremely healthy pregnancy and I am actually super proud of myself. :)
Best moment of the week: Picking up the monogrammed outfit baby girl will wear at the hospital/on the way home! I know it's trivial, but it's the small things that sometimes make you smile the biggest.
Maternity clothes? Today I am wearing a normal sweater/top with maternity leggings. Thank goodness for being at the end of my pregnancy in cold weather!!!
Sleep:  Pretty good crazy enough. I of course wake up 2-7 times in the middle of the night (due to either needing to use the restroom or my hands falling asleep and waking me up), but I've found two sleeping positions that seem to work for me for the most part!
Miss anything? Not feeling like a whale?! The last week I really started to swell for the first time and it's been a pretty big shock to my system! I fit into one pair of flats, one pair of slippers, and two pairs of workout shoes. Thank goodness for a supportive boss that lets me rock the slippers every day!
Food cravings: Carbs and candy! And this week - cold fruit and cold smoothies. My day of eating pretty much consists of smoothies, protein bars, a humungo lunch with a big sandwich of some sort, candy, more candy, and then try to squeeze in either a remotely healthy dinner or a big serving of fruit. Not much extra room in the tummy these days but I make it work...girl's gotta eat! ;)
Anything making you queasy or sick? Some grilled chicken again...
Symptoms:  Swollen to the max. It's gotten better since last week but it's still pretty shocking!
Belly button in or out? Almost always out now!
Movement:  Lots - but in a different way! There's no more pokes or punches, but rather shifts in how she's sitting (or whatever it is she's doing!). I mainly feel her hips and feet at this point...all up in my rib cage!
Happy or Moody most of the time? So, so happy. <- I don't think I've changed this response in 39 weeks. I cannot believe she is almost here and we get to meet our baby in DAYS. It is surreal and exciting and nerve-racking and unbelievable all at the same time. We are so ready to be parents and while I will sometimes miss just being me and hubby, I am left feeling so grateful to be welcoming a little girl into the world that we get to call ours.
Looking forward to: Meeting our sweet girl. :)
