Our daily routine is similar but yet changes every day. It usually begins with Blaire waking up around the time hubby leaves for work, so he gets to kiss on her for a bit and then we see him off. She will eat and then her and I will play in bed or on her play mat for a good hour. We try to squeeze in that good 'ol tummy time that she's NOT a fan of, but mainly I switch her off between my lap, chest and the play mat and take lots and lots of pictures to send to daddy. :) She'll go down for her morning nap after she's been up for about an hour or so and nap anywhere from 1-2 hours. After she wakes up and eats again, Aunt Shannon usually comes over and plays with her so I can get a quick workout in! How helpful and amazing is that?! Blaire loves the time she gets to spend with Aunt Shanny and loves playing dress-up and listening to music with her.
We'll play some more and get another nap and feeding in and then almost every day we get to go hang out with Mimi! We'll either meet my mom at their house or out and about to run some errands together. They play and play (a lot of times Aunt Katie is at the house and so Blaire gets to spend even MORE time with her Aunties!) and we try to get a decent afternoon nap in there somewhere. She's definitely more of a morning napper than an afternoon napper...but we're working on it. :)
Before we know it, daddy is home for the day and it's time for their snuggle time. This is where the phrase "tag team" was made; he'll come home and swoop up the baby while I'll go out and get or make dinner for the evening. On some nights we get SUPER lucky and she'll go down for her last nap of the evening right as we eat dinner.
Finally, it's bath time and time to start the evening routine! 90% of the time Blaire enjoys her baths these days; it's if she's hungry or tired that it's a definite no-go and we're doomed. But other than that! We've had some of our best photo shoots in the bathtub with her giggly personality. She doesn't love being dried off; she'll wail and wail because she just doesn't understand why she can't go from bathtub to eating immediately the next moment! ;) So after she's in her PJs she gets one more feeding and then we swaddle her and then it's snuggle time on her lounger pillow until she falls asleep. Of course there are a million bajillion hugs, kisses and pictures in between all of this, but that goes without saying. ;) She's getting better about sitting still so I've been able to read a SHORT book to her here and there. She's a fantastic baby, but the girl doesn't like to sit still too much!
And that, in a nut shell, is our day. I have one more week with her at home before I'm back to work and I am soaking in every moment I can. It will be excruciating to leave her, and I sob every SINGLE time I think about it, but I know in the long run it will be best for both of us. She will be in wonderful hands and it will make our time together THAT much more special when I get home from work. (Note to friends and family: please remind me of this over and over and OVER again in about two weeks when I'm crying my eyes out!)
Blaire - 2 Months Old
This month your height is 23 inches and your weight is 11lbs., 11oz.
Your sleeping patterns are... Actually pretty great! Blaire has been a great sleeper from Day 1. Even as a fresh newborn she would wake in the middle of the night only to eat and then it's pretty much right back to bed. That pattern continued for a while and at about 8 weeks old she started "sleeping through the night" about every other night. Her bedtime routine starts at 8pm and she will fall asleep sometime between 9-10pm. Some nights she will sleep all the way through to 7am, some nights she still needs to wake for a feeding around 1-2am. Jason and I really can't complain! As the days have progressed she did as much as 4 nights in a row of sleeping through the night...but of course those nights were followed by a few really funky nights of waking 2-3 times so I'm sure we have a little ways to go before getting too excited about this pattern sticking. :)
Your feeding schedule is... During the day, you continue to eat every 2 1/2 to 4 hours. I would say on average we really try to stick to the 3 hour window, but there are of course the growth spurt days where she's eating every 2.5 hours or sleeping a ton and she's stretching the feedings to 4 hours. Blaire continues to be a great feeder and we are still exclusively breast feeding because she's doing so well!
Some sounds and motions you make are... Hysterical! Her laughs and giggles make me laugh EVERY. TIME. I just can't get enough! You never know when she's going to whip out that gorgeous smile and give you her best laugh; we haven't figured out exactly what it is that makes her laugh like crazy but whatever it is, we love it! She also has really been able to start "playing" on her own on her play mat and I love listening to her little excitement sounds as she looks at everything around her. Also, the noises she makes when fighting sleep and she's got her binky in her mouth are adorable! Such a tired pup some days that she just still wants to "talk" about it. ;)
Your likes and dislikes are... Likes: The girl loves mornings for sure! She is such a happy camper in the mornings and likes pretty much anything and anybody. :) She has also really grown into liking her swing and play mat. She loves it when we put a finger in her mouth and press on her gums (uh-oh!), along with shoving her own hand in her mouth. Blaire loves being held over the shoulder and she currently took a liking to me holding her on my hip with her facing outward! Dislikes: having a dirty diaper, becoming cold after getting out of the bath, being hungry and being in the same position for longer than 5/10 minutes. She is such a good baby, but I joke she is also a high maintenance baby! As long as we're standing a moving, she will be happy. :)

Your favorite toys and games are... Loves her play mat and I want to get another one for a little variety. She enjoys a brief game of peek-a-boo and she's coming around to liking "Airplane". I would say she mostly loves when people make funny faces at her - that's what seems to crack her up the most!
By the end of the month you are learning to... I feel like she's learning so much but really all the things she's been doing previously are just getting better and stronger. She holds eye contact tremendously and holds her head up like a champ. She's really had a ton of neck strength from Week 1 and we're working on tummy time so that she can soon push up and maybe roll over. She grasps things and loves looking around at objects now - which is so cool to witness her really be able to see things better and more clearly.
This sweet baby girl is such a snuggle bug!
