LITTLE BABY GARRAHAN: Four Months Old!

This month your height is 24inches and your weight is 12lbs., 11oz.

Your sleeping patterns are... Well, as of this week they're great! However, Blaire entered the "four month sleep regression" around 15 weeks and it lasted strong until 18 weeks. It was extremely rough - I hadn't personally been kept up and not slept well since going back to work and it took a bit of a toll on me. She went from sleeping through the night like a champ to waking 2-3 times each night; and being a super sensitive sleeper. Keeping my fingers crossed that this phase is over (until the next one!) and that we're back to good night sleeps for now. :)

Your feeding schedule is... Every 3-4 hours - nursed or given a bottle of breast milk at school. She is up to 7oz in the bottle and my new mantra we live by is: a full baby is a happy baby! We've been surprised at how much she takes from a bottle but are so happy she's healthy and happy and a growing girl! She is still exclusively on breast milk and we hope to keep that going until 6 months, when we'll introduce solids. If things go well, we could possibly keep the breast milk going along with solid foods...for who knows how long. I'm so proud of myself and of Blaire that we've been able to keep breastfeeding like we have. I sure don't take it for granted and although it's hard work and a part-time job in itself, I wouldn't have it any other way!

Some sounds and motions you make are... Ohhhh you have really found your hands and you love reaching for things now. Especially your feet! You have started finding your feet as well and you love stuffing them in your cute little mouth! The binky has become of less use because you just tend to use your toes or your thumb when you're playing! Her giggles are the best and when she gets really excited she laughs and stuffs her hands in her mouth.

Your likes and dislikes are... You actually have quite a few likes and hardly any dislikes these days!! It's so fun to watch her become this extremely happy baby and fall in love with things. Blaire loves when someone makes eye contact with her and smiles - she just thinks it's so fun and to quote Elf, smiling truly is her favorite. :) She is a happy, happy girl who loves morning time with Mom and Dad, going to school and playing with Mathis, William and Mrs. Tanner, and pretty much any interaction she gets from anyone - but especially from her Aunts and Grandparents! Her dislikes continue to be when she's hungry and tired. Luckily that tends to truly be pretty much the only time she's unhappy (which some days can be more than others) and although we're not on a super set schedule, we try to make sure we're always aware of her moods and try to plan accordingly. Weekends with family are our favorite and we spend lots of time over at Mimi and Grandpas and Honey and Papa's houses.

Your favorite toys and games are... Still loving her play mat and Primrose introduced the excersaucer to her! She's almost sitting up by herself now (I think?!) and so she's loving the new toys she's able to reach for and look at with a little better mobility. We're still not sure how she likes Peek-a-Boo, but it usually cracks her up so I do it just to hear her giggles!

By the end of the month you are learning to... You are SO close to rolling over from front to back...almost there! You are learning to self-soothe much more and it's so neat to watch her play and entertain herself from time to time. Your smile is positively contagious and you have become such a happy little girl.

It's been a fun few weeks with this smiley girl! We took our first "vacation" as a family and went down to Port Aransas for the annual Garrahan coast trip. Aunt Ashley and Uncle Kevin got married which was beautiful and a blast, and Blaire was the sweetest flower girl there ever was (in my humble opinion)!
